Class Assignments

We got caught up on assignments today, thank goodness. We took notes on the answers to the questions on page 142.  Go back to 142 and read the questiions again and make your notes make sense.  We did that in a very big hurry on purpose to teach you how to get ideas down on paper to help form a paper later.  Your first step in writing this paper is to re-read the 8 questions and get your answers in order.  Do this for Christianity only because the Activity sheet I gave you already has done this for you for Shintoism.  Here is what I wrote in answer to the questions:
1. God/Jesus- when Jesus was born: 1AD/ actually 0 AD
2. The Bible
3. Apostle's Creed; The Nicene Creed
4. The Bible; Jesus's life
5. Everyone sins- sin started with the first man and woman.
6. Christians are saved when they confess, profess, and repent- turn away from sin
7. Jesus was resurrected, lives in Heaven, right hand of God, "Where I go, you yoo shall come"  Jesus saves Christians from judgement
8. HOPE

1. Using your notes, write a compare/contrast paper on Christianity and Shintoism.  This is a rough draft.  If you can, skip lines so you can make corrections.  It must be at least 3 paragraphs: beginning, middle, end. The middle is where you will write your notes in complete sentences.  Please remember what I told you in class about writing this paper.
2. Read chapters 21- Author's Note of Anna...

1. Page 147: 27B: Make a comparison chart like the one I did in class today with Christianity and Shintoism.  This is the note-taking part of a compare/contrast paper.  You are going to do what I did for you today so you could write your paper tomorrow.  In the question on page 147, the author gives you the notes you need for  what the pope wears and what Gregory wears.  Read it carefully.  After reading the paragraph, you may want to go on the internet to look at a picture of a monk from the Middle Ages.  That will help you with the description as well as your notes.  There is more to Gregory's outfit than what the author tells you in 27B.  You need the names of the garments as well as the discription.
2. Answer the discussion questions for Anna in complete sentences.
