We finished watching "HAnsel and Gretel" in class today.After that we worked on our vocabulary work we had for homework.

1. Read rest of Leif Eriksson...
2. Do page 278: 48C:#2 ; write the entire definition of orthodox.  Remember to include the pronunciation, etymology, and part of speech plus the entire definition.  Also, remember that pronunciations go in parentheses ( ) and etymologies go in brackets [ ].  This is so you can tell them apart!  Be able to answer the questions the author gives you in the assignment. Bring to class.

ORDER THE NEXT BOOK: EL CID TODAY!  It is due in class May 4.

Today we talked about Good King Winseslas and the Christmas song written about him.  I was very interested to learn that no one in the class knew the song and some either said they had never heard of it!  Well, you have now!  Just don't grade me on my singing abilities!!!  We also got in to our next book, Leif Eriksson; even though we have read the first half of it!  We did this today because some of you did not have it in class on Friday.
The next book we will read will be El Cid.  You need to go ahead and order it now.  This will be the last book we read this year.  You guys have really done some reading this year and I am very proud of you.

1. The Maori: Vocabulary 3: Write: the word;
                                                           the sentence where the word first occurs in the book;
                                                           the page number from the book;
                                                           the definition that matches the meaning of the word in the sentence.

EXAMPLE:
